Embrace Wisdom

0

A very close family friend reached out to me advising I should read Proverbs. He said to me there are “31 days in the month and 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs, read one daily and your wisdom will grow exponentially”. He was quoting Steven Scott: Fortune Found in Proverbs. Last night I decided to prioritize my schedule into things I’m most passionate about:

  • My relationship with God
  • Health
  • Family, Girlfriend & Friends
  • Helping people
  • Business (Domain Investing & Real Estate)

I began my journey through Proverbs (skipping ahead even though I wasn’t supposed to) and found that I couldn’t stop reading. I reached out to my friend in Denver and my cousin in Tempe to join me on this path for wisdom. Every night we review what we’ve read and share what we’ve learned from the chapter. By sharing what we individually learned it maximizes how much we take away from each chapter.

People often mistake knowledge for wisdom- You gain knowledge through experience, but you obtain wisdom when you learn to leverage knowledge and use it to your benefit. In my first night reading proverbs I learned that you have to let go and trust God, seek wisdom at every corner of your life,  never let loyalty and kindness leave you and to embrace a disciplined life. I wonder what day two will bring…?

The most exciting news is the very first day after embracing Proverbs I woke up to an email and sold a pair of hyphenated domains for a $1000 profit. Is it a coincidence or is it God affirming the path I’ve chosen? I give my glory to God.
