Google Relocated CPC Estimator
One of the most frequently used domain tools is Google’s external keyword tool. Domain investors can plug in a keyword phrase and sort by broad or exact match results to find advertiser competition, global & local monthly search volume, ad share, search share, local search trends and estimated CPC value. In the past it was as simple as doing a Google search for “keyword tool” and then processing your search request. But I just noticed a few days ago that they relocated theĀ Google CPC estimator.
If you want access to all of the data you now need to log into your Google Adwords account first. If you don’t have an Adwords account then you should set one up. It’s easy, free to open an account, and CPC is something you should learn if you’re investing in domain names.
Do you think this was something Google did on purpose to encourage users to setup an Adwords account? If you don’t have an Adwords account do you plan on opening one now?

This is really disappointing. We use the keyword tool daily to check search volume and estimated cpc value before we register domain names. Another communist act by an obvious monopoly. Thanks for sharing I was wondering where it went!
@Nate- I wouldn’t be too upset about the change. I believe the adwords account is free to setup. Simply click the link in the body of the article to do so. Let me know if you have any questions.
